Compliance Isn't Optional.
It's the Foundation.

FAA Part 107 commercial drone rules are still relatively new, and many operators in the DFW area fly without certification, insurance, or proper authorization. Orcrist treats every flight like the regulated commercial operation it is — because that's how it protects you, your property, and the people on site.

Certified & Trained

Every flight is conducted by an FAA Part 107 certified Remote Pilot with current recurrent training. We test, re-test, and document — no exceptions, no shortcuts.

Fully Insured

Commercial drone liability insurance is in force on every flight. Certificates of insurance are available upon request.

Airspace & Remote ID

LAANC pre-authorization for any controlled airspace around DFW International, Dallas Love Field, and other DFW airports. Active Remote ID broadcast on every flight — trackable, transparent, accountable.

Pre-Flight Discipline

Weather minimums, NOTAMs, B4UFLY review, airspace check, anti-collision lighting verification, and visual line-of-sight planning — completed and logged before takeoff. Never improvised.

Common Questions
About DFW Drone Services

Do I need a permit to hire a drone photographer in Dallas-Fort Worth?

No — when you hire an FAA Part 107 certified drone operator like Orcrist, we handle every required permit, airspace authorization (LAANC for controlled DFW airspace), and compliance step for you. You just tell us what you need captured and we take care of the rest.

How much does drone photography cost in DFW?

Pricing varies based on project type, location, edit complexity, and turnaround. Most real estate aerial shoots in the Dallas-Fort Worth area run between a few hundred and around a thousand dollars. Commercial projects and events are quoted per scope. Request a free quote and we'll respond within two hours.

Why should I hire a licensed and insured drone operator instead of a friend with a drone?

Hiring an FAA Part 107 certified, insured drone operator isn't optional for commercial work — it's federal law. Any drone flight done for someone else's business benefit — a real estate listing, commercial property marketing, an event, or branded social content — is a commercial operation under FAA rules and requires a Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate. "Free" doesn't make it non-commercial.

The "I have a friend with a drone" approach exposes both the pilot and the client to FAA civil penalties that can reach tens of thousands of dollars per violation, plus liability for any damage. If an uninsured drone crashes into a roof, a vehicle, a window, or — worst case — a person, standard homeowner's and business insurance policies typically exclude commercial drone operations, leaving the property owner, real estate agent, or event host on the hook. The "knew or should have known" liability standard means clients can share legal exposure when they hire an unlicensed operator.

Many real estate brokerages also require proof of Part 107 certification and current liability insurance for any aerial imagery used in MLS listings — partly to protect the agent's Errors & Omissions (E&O) coverage. Hiring Orcrist means the certification, airspace authorization, Remote ID compliance, anti-collision lighting, and liability insurance are all handled. You just get the footage — and a paper trail that protects you.

How long does it take to receive my drone photos and video?

Standard turnaround is typically 2–5 business days for edited photos and short videos. We confirm an exact delivery timeline at booking. Rush options are available for time-sensitive real estate listings or event coverage.

What FAA regulations do certified drone operators follow?

All Orcrist flights are conducted under FAA Part 107 commercial drone rules — including Remote ID compliance, airspace authorization (LAANC) for controlled zones around DFW International, Dallas Love Field, and other DFW airports, weather and visibility checks, and full liability insurance. Night operations are permitted under current Part 107 rules with proper anti-collision lighting and trained remote pilots. We never fly without the required authorizations.
